How I Define True Love
How I Define True Love
Some people say true love is to have intense feelings.
But I would say true love is an irresistible desire to make one happier.
Some people say true love is to have a crush on someone in three seconds.
But I would say true love is a decision and effort to commit myself to one for a lifetime.
Some people say true love is to enjoy pleasure and happiness together.
But I would say true love is to go through all the struggles and ugliness together.
Some people say true love is to be able to feel attracted physically, especially in bed.
But I would say true love is to be able to feel safe and beloved by being just the way I am, even with a morning breath or swollen face.
Some people say true love is to brag about the partner with joy to others.
But I would say true love is to forgive and cover one's mistakes and weaknesses, being humble.
Some people say true love is to have unforgettable fascinating moments such as events, travels, fancy dates, etc.
But I would say true love is to make daily routines and silence comfortable and enjoyable with jokes, silliness, laughter, etc.
Some people say true love is to do something huge even by sacrificing.
But I would say true love is to be stable and steady in trivial but crucial things like talking every day, crying and laughing together, writing short/longer letters, bringing flowers or small gifts by memories out of the blue, listening to each other despite a long day, and being a good friend and child for one's friends and family.
Some people say true love is non-existent and pointless, going for short-term and casual relationships only.
But I would say there will be no point in existing in life if we never experience in-depth sincerity and adoration toward someone who is imperfect and different but just easy to love the way s/he is.
Some people say true love is to have butterflies and smiles through the time being together or even just thinking about one.
But I would say true love is to have a lifelong bestie and supporter through the ups and downs of life or even sickness and death.
Some people say true love is to find one who has a similar point of view and personality.
But I would say true love is to recognize people cannot be similar at all and learn from each other's strengths and weaknesses by balancing, accepting, and advising.
Some people say true love is to easily arouse and satisfy each other to be pleasured, excited, and satiated.
But I would say true love is to earnestly inspire and endeavor to make one grow up to be more mature, complimented, and secure.
Some people say true love is to want to be with someone 24/7 and have exclusive attention and affection.
But I would say true love is to trust and respect someone no matter what circumstances come with unbreakable attention and affection even when we are sometimes distant emotionally or physically.
Some people say true love is like fantasy and daydreaming that never will be fulfilled because there are too many qualifications to be "the true one".
But I do not agree with that
because what makes us find the one is not only looking for the qualities in others
but living life as the one who meets the qualifications in the first place.
Once I become the one,
THE one who has met qualities will undoubtedly recognize me somewhere, somehow, and at some time.
